A lot of people think that blogging is just a hobby. This isn’t actually the case at all, in fact, it’s more than possible for you to make a small fortune from blogging without having to make much effort at all.
Monetize with CPC
One of the best and most common ways that a lot of bloggers make money is by placing a lot of advertisements on their site. There are two main types of ads, some of them include CPC or PPC ads, and others include CPM ads. PPC/CPC ads are called cost-per-click and they usually come in the form of a banner that you put on a sidebar. Every time someone clicks on the advertisement, you will be given a small amount of money. CPM ads give you money based on every 1000 impressions you make. Google AdSense is the best way for you to place ads on your site as you won’t have to have any kind of direct contact with your advertisers. You will instead place the banner on your site and then the software will monitor the rest. If you are planning on making money from your blog and turning it into a fully-fledged business idea, then you may want to invest in business insurance. After all, if you end up posting something that offends someone or if you end up accidentally giving bad advice, then this could go against you and you may end up being sued. Business insurance costs do vary, but when you go through companies such as Hiscox, you will be able to get a solid policy that covers you for everything you need.
Working with an advertising network is not your only option. If you do end up with a good amount of traffic, then you may find that advertisers come to you in hopes that you will place the advertisement on your site. You can also connect with advertisers yourself. The biggest difference here is that you can set your own advertisement rates as there is absolutely no middle man. You can sell ads in the form of buttons, banners and even links if you want. You can also make money via sponsored posts. If you do this then you will give a review of someone’s product or even their service in exchange for payment.
Affiliate marketing is another fantastic way for you to turn your blog into a real money-maker. An advertiser might have a product that they want to sell and if you advertise it for them by putting a link on your site, the seller will then give you commission. The best thing about this is that you will have your own unique link, and this will be attached to your site. That way, the seller will know which sales have come through your site. You can easily sign up with sites such as Amazon Affiliates if you want to take advantage of things like this, so do keep that in mind.
