Sending Good Thoughts to Hawaii

by

I just found out not too long ago that there was an earthquake in Hawaii. I’m sending good thoughts to a fellow personal finance blogger that lives in Hawaii, Financial Freedumb, as well as everyone over there.

Thank goodness, so far there are no fatalities reported. I hope all is well Freedumb and Brownie.

A Pretty Cheap Halloween Costume

by

My son really wants to be a ghost for Halloween this year. I looked at all of the costumes at Walmart, but there’s no way I’m paying $17.00 for an outfit he will only wear once.

So guess how I’m making his costume?

Yep, a white sheet. We actually do not have one in the house, so I bought a twin size flat sheet for $2.50. I also purchased some white face paint for $0.97.

Unfortunately, I have never used a sewing machine in my life except for the brief lesson my mom gave me when she gave me one of her sewing machines. So, the actual result may be a little interesting. But, for a ghost, as long as he mostly looks white it should be okay, right? LOL.

It’s cute that he’s so excited about his costume. Mom’s excited too!
