Money has been added to my Ally savings account.
And I was able to pay a bit more toward my students loan this month.

Life Keeps Life-ing
I realize I owe you a lot of answers, especially on the money from the house sale and where it all went. As soon as I have a moment to sit down and focus, I will get back to all that.
I am back in Georgia for the foreseeable future. Flew in this past weekend.
Beauty and her fiance were in a 4 Wheeler accident Saturday afternoon. Princess drove up and stayed with her at the hospital until I could get here. She was released relatively quickly with referrals to specialists. We have orthopedic consults this week for her broken wrist and also for her leg, but unsure of damage. We think torn ligaments, nothing showed as broken in initial xrays.
Her fiance broke his femur in two toward the head where it rests in the hip joint. (Don’t get on to me, I don’t know body parts.) But he had surgery yesterday where they put in plates and pins. 6 months of healing and PT before they anticipate he can work again.
It’s bad. And they are going to need ALOT of help. Once we figure out the plan with Beauty, I will make a plan to return to Texas, grab my car and dogs and return to help as needed. That is the plan as of now, it’s unfolding.
Financially
Thankfully, I had Delta airlines credit that was set to expire in just a couple of months. I had been debating how to use it. Which is weird, because you know me, if I have the means, I am going somewhere.
But it more than covered my last minute one way flight to GA. Leaving me with $171 in credit still.
Princess picked me up at the airport. And I’m driving Beauty’s car when I need to get out. I have spent some money on groceries. But since I haven’t spent much at all while at my parent’s house the last 5 weeks, my $200/monthly budget is well stocked.
Playing the next several months as they come. I will stay with Princess and her fiance as long as they need me (after I return to TX and pick up my dogs and car).

But life has a way of rewriting your plans.
A year ago, Hope made the decision to move in with her aging parents full time – a season she wouldn’t trade, even as it came with its own financial and emotional weight. Earlier this year, she lost her mother, and is now walking the tender, disorienting path of grief while learning what “forward” looks like from here.
Hope came to the Blogging Away Debt community in 2015 as a single mom raising five foster and adoptive children. She’s written through job changes, financial setbacks, and the bittersweet transition to an empty nest. Her kids are finding their footing in the world now – and so is she.
Rooted in faith and fueled by the same perseverance she’s brought to every hard season, Hope is ready to face her finances with fresh eyes and an honest pen. She believes that clarity, courage, and community can change the trajectory of anyone’s story including her own.
She lives in Austin, TX with her dad, loves adventures with her dog Addie, and is figuring out, one step at a time, what this next chapter is meant to be.

Praying for healing for Beauty and her fiancé.
Glad you’re able to be there for them.
You let me get this straight you are going to screw your Dad again…..
What a surprise
And yeah.. does anyone have health insurance since you aren’t “doctor people”
My beliefs are here for public consumption. I’ve made that choice.
My children’s are not. That is their private business. So I won’t be answering this question.
And for the record, I have had health and dental insurance since January 1 of this year. I’ve posted previously of it’s use as well.
Wow, that’s super harsh and uncalled for. She is being selfless and taking care of multiple family members who need help. Show some compassion for someone who is caregiving on multiple fronts. Sheesh.
Screw my dad again? How?
Wow Hope, great work paying off all that debt!
Keep closing out those credit cards and hustling as much cash as possible into savings.
Wow! That’s awful. Hope they have health insurance.
Hope,
I am so sorry to hear that you have both your mom and your daughter needing help at the same time! It’s hard to be in two places at once. Give yourself some grace here and remember to take care of yourself too. Put out the forest fires one at a time and try to keep the damage to a minimum. Sometimes that’s all you can do. Ignore the haters and be as financially responsible during this time as humanely possible. It will be tough but don’t lose track of your successes.
You have this!
Thank you, Emilie. I have learned the hard way recently that not taking proper care of myself can end of me not being able to take care of anyone.
Grateful for a village who stepped in and put me back on the right track.
