Warming Up?

by

I know it’s early to be thinking about turning on your air conditioner, at least in most states, but out here in California, we’ve had to turn ours on a time or two already.

My husband, aka Mr. Fix-It, wanted me to remind you to change your air conditioner/furnace filter at least once every six months depending on your usage. Changing this filter helps to make your unit run more efficiently and prevent costly repairs. Plus, those with allergies may notice it helps reduce those nasty symptoms that rear their ugly head this time of year.

Don’t know how? Let e-how help: http://www.ehow.com/how_2043782_change-air-conditioner-filter.html

We’ve had our AC on for weeks. Too humid without it!

Thanks for the reminder, though. I’ll have my husband change the filter tonight.

Being that we live in Southwest Riverside County in CA, we have had to turn it on as well, however, we have already changed the air filter, and in fact, we have re-insulated the house.

I change mine every 2-3 months, more so in the winter and summer than in the fall and spring. The HVAC doesn’t turn on often during the moderate temps in the spring and fall, so I can get away with leaving the filters in longer. When I do take out the filters in the summers and winters you can definitely see the dirt – sometimes the filters are fairly grey!

Hahaha we still have our heat on. Wisconsin is weird, it was 80 degrees last Sunday and then dropped back to 53. Welcome to the Great Lakes.

Have you seen/heard about the new show “Extreme Couponing”? I was watching it and while they get AMAZING deals, the storage for the items and the health factor actually made me think of you – living frugally and planning strategically sounds much better than spending THAT much time trying to get free deals from stores.

Just curious about your thoughts on it.

So, what do you think ?
