It’s always nice to visit bloggers who have made it. You read the posts where they proclaimed that they are now debt-free and you can feel the weight lifted off their shoulders. Today I thought I would highlight those bloggers.
“I appreciate how I learned who my true friends are and how you can pretty accurately judge a person based on how they treat people who don’t wear fancy clothes or flash their money around. I appreciate the freedom that comes when you don’t have to struggle paycheck to paycheck to survive. I truly appreciate all the things that you can buy with money because I lived so long without having much.”
“It’s over, I finally did it.
I am debt free.
This means my paycheques are finally mine. They’re not earmarked to send to someone else. I can now put it straight into a savings account where I’m paid interest instead of being charged it!!”
“Free at last, free at last, it’s hard to believe but it feels so good, I am Free at last!
Bye, Bye Ford Motor Credit! Bye Bye Chase and Citi! Bye, Bye Credit Card Companies!!! Bye, Bye! Bye, Bye MasterCard and Visa! BYE, BYE!!!”
These bloggers are a big inspiration to me. I hope to join their ranks in a few years

I can’t even imagine the day I pay off my last auto, student or credit card loan (whichever is last) and become debt free.
Only $79,000 more to go!

Only 3 more months for me! Then I’m working on my mortgage!

I’m definitely looking forward to the day that I’m no longer carrying a debtload when the credit cards become tools rather than burdens I will be a happy man.
By the way I love the layout change to the site.

I’ve been a weak blogger lately, but I’m no less dedicated to ditching my debt. Check back with me this month – my debt will be gone by the time March rolls in. Thanks for a great blog! It’s folks like you and the bloggers you listed who inspire and educate me to get out of debt!

[...] Tricia @ Blogging Away Debt introduces us to some bloggers who were once in debt but are now debt free. Tricia highlights the point in time when No Credit Needed, Defying Debt In 2 Years, and Beyond Broke vanquished their debt. This is an inspiring reminder to many who are wrestling with loans and debt payments. [...]

I heard that credit card companies call people who pay off their balances….”deadbeats”.

The worst thing about being out of debt is feeling like you are still in debt. Saving for the future feels like you are still in debt. You are owing, granted you are owing yourself. The budget still feels tight after debt, because you are trying to reach the goal for retirement.

Tyler, instead of paying off the mortgage, could you contribute more towards retirement? I guess it all depends on your mortgage interest rate and future plans though.

Thanks for the round up. I think it’s good to pull them together so the rest of us have some concrete places to go for support.
As for me, I think I can pay down at least $10K of my debt this year if I stay focused. (over 50% of the credit cards!)

I have no idea how I got here, but I love the idea of paying down debt. This year I have taxes, trips, and about 32k of student debt that I want to pay off… but expenses in NYC are high, and my spending habits are terrible. Wish me luck

Credit card people call us “deadbeats” ??
That “screams” volumes to cut up your plastic FOREVER which we have done.
We LOVE being “deadbeats” lol

Thank you all of you here.
I am glad to stumble upon bloggingawaydebt.com and from here I get to visit other interesting links.
Most important of all,I am truly inspired by all of you here. I want to be DEBT FREEEEEE !
My goal this year is to cut down 30% of my credit card debts.I have written letters to banks asking for lower interest rate. And YES,one bank offered 9% and another bank offered 12% which I think is better than the 18% now !
Again,I will keep coming back to your blog.
