Friday Blog Highlights and Some Free Stuff

by

First of all, the highlights:

Have you thought about blogging about your finances? Flexo from Consumerism Commentary has started mypfblogs.com. You can sign up over there and have your very own free blog.

City Girl talks about how no one is really ever satisfied with their income. I can relate to this. My husband and I thought that $40,000 would be the perfect income for us. We made $48,000 last year and now we think we need $50,000 a year to live comfortably. When we reach $50,000 – will that be enough?

Makingourway has started and posted a brand new carnival, the 30s and 40s Personal Finances: Wealth Accumulation Carnival. I didn’t participate, because I still have one more month of being in my twenties 😉 Still, it is nice to start thinking about the next stage in our lives…the one after debt.

Free Stuff

Free Oil Change on Your Birthday (South East Michigan only)

Mighty Dog Can of Dogfood (register for the free can – bottom right hand side of site)

Enjoy! 🙂

I Love Stories Like This

by

I love feel good stories. You know, the ones where you hear about simple people doing nice things. I found such a story on Yahoo today.

Osman Chowdhury, a 41-year old New York taxi driver, found 31 diamond rings in the back of his taxi. He could have received a hefty sum if he chose to keep the rings for himself and sell him. The thought never crossed his mind.

“I’m not going to take someone else’s money or property to make me rich. I don’t want it that way,”

When the owner of the diamond rings wanted to reward Osman for his good deed, he tried to refuse the $100 reward:

“I cannot take a penny for being honest,” he said, but he reluctantly accepted the money to cover the fares he lost while trying to track her down.

I don’t know why, but I could read stories like these all day, every day. I had to share.

Here’s a link to the full Yahoo article.
