Wow! Now I feel kinda bad about complaining but…
My husband got his raise!! How much?
10 PERCENT!!
He’s a hard worker, he’s reliable, he’s smart, and his butt looks great in his Costco jeans (but I’m sure the last part has nothing to do with it).
We’d like to celebrate but… we just got back from a foreign vacation. We can’t afford to celebrate until 2014. Plus, I’m typing this while sitting on a couch that smells like dog pee… kinda takes away the joy of the moment. ; )

Don’t let anything steal that joy, girl! Y’all need to celebrate somehow, even if it’s just having a romantic dinner at home.
CONGRATULATIONS! My dh just got his income cut by 3% (school district employee), so it’s nice to hear that someone is doing better rather than worse right now.

That is really nice to hear, it sounded like you needed some good news.

Congrats! Maybe the boss realized how bad it would be around there without your husband, while you guys were gone.
PS Maybe you can celebrate by getting new roommates.

Congratulations! I’m glad to see something good happen to cancel out the bad (well, or at least counter act it).

Congratulations!
As for the dog pee, there’s a great product called Petzyme that is fantastic at removing pet stains and odors. It’s available at Petsmart. Be sure to buy the one formulated for dogs. It’s worth it. I used the cat formula on a suede jacket that my cat peed on and it worked like a charm. And cat pee is FAR worse than dog pee.

In followup to Joanna, we’ve kept elderly pets around far longer than we thought we could with Nature’s Miracle. It’s enzymatic also. You really have to use enzymatic stuff before using ANY soap or detergent though.
Too bad it’s not spring so you could cruise around the university areas in search a replacement couch…
You’ve been silent a few days, hope your clean up and family matters are going well enough. Hang in there!
