I use creditkarma.com to get my credit score. It tracks your score for free. I've been using it for about a year now and have never paid a cent. I know that I sound like an ad for the site but it's the best *free* way to check your score.

If anyone knows of others, or has used credit karma before, let me know!

I'm not taking out any major loans for the time being. The only reason I keep track of my "score" is just for a general idea of how I am doing. Since my real score doesn't matter, I am happy with a FAKO score... and I just use the one at credit karma and consider it good enough.

I know it's not the real thing. But it's free.

Just make sure that what you're paying for is the FICO score! They may offer a "credit score" but unless it's listed as the FICO one, it will be based on a different scale, and not the number that most people are looking for. Funny I just posted about this myself ("buyer beware")!

D'Oh! I paid for a score last year and it was not the FICO! So now I'm uber-careful.
