I haven’t been released to exercise since I came down with pneumonia, but I figured I could exercise a little without doing too much damage. Never mind the fact that I haven’t exerted any sort of physical energy for the last 60 or so days. I was just so tired of feeling like a sick train wreck, I thought exercising might make me feel more like the old me.
My husband bought me the Wii Active More Workouts game for Christmas so I figured that would be a good place to start. Users are given the option to choose easy, medium, or hard workouts. Given my current situation, I chose… medium.
The overachiever in me is incapable of choosing any option labeled ‘easy’.
And maybe, this choice would have been fine… had I not exchanged the flimsy resistance band from the package to my ultra strong 3 layer band.
31 minutes later I was sweating, gasping for breath, and wishing I had taught my dog to fetch my inhaler. Just thinking about the ‘hard’ level gives me night terrors.
I’m cancelling my gym membership.

That is too funny! Yeah, I don’t like choosing “easy” either…hey I live in Cleveland, ain’t nuthin’ easy here! Unemployment at 10.9% here, but thankfully I have two jobs. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Glad to hear you’re getting back to something resembling normal. Being sick that long must feel like an eternity.
Sorry, but what’s up with the Christmas gift? I’m going to assume that was bought before he was laid off and was unreturnable? When you’re stretching the remnants in the pantry to avoid buying groceries, buying any gifts seems counter productive.
I’d be interested to hear from others on whether they cut out or back on gifts this year. We opted out of some exchanges we’ve done in previous years, and for our own kids we cut back and shopped very carefully for what we did get. My husband and I stopped exchanging gifts 20yrs ago. If there’s anything we truly need it can’t wait for Christmas, and anything non-essential just becomes clutter.

I’ve been thinking about getting Wii Active. I’m guessing it’s worth it since you have the “More Workouts” add-on?

The Easy level on that is just fine for me, thank you.

I want one of those…but know I’ll never choose the “easy” level when starting out either!!

Easy?…. did you say easy?? I’m still at the balancing part. I’ll never tell you how old it says I am. Good grief.
Love you, mom

That is hilarious! I agree that picking the “easy” level would be an impossible task! I am an overachiever as well, hee hee…..
