I was up for an engineering job at the USPS in April. I came in 2nd. The guy that got the job had more supervisory experience than I did and he made a big deal of it at his interview - it wasn't a supervisory job so I didn't play that up, and should have. It was a $65,000 a year job that would have meant keeping my house...now I'll likely be losing it in the next few months.

God must have other plans for me. He closed a door - I'm now looking for whatever window he's opened for me. It has to be here somewhere...LOL

Gotta keep your sense of humor when you are job searching.

I'm sitting here crying over a very high cell phone bill, looking for distraction, when I run across this. You're so right. Debt makes you feel like a failure, and I'm about as low as I can get at this point. Wish my husband were out looking for a job that paid the bills; be thankful for yours.

Oh how I can relate to that! It's a daily struggle for us, feeling like we made such a mess of things, getting down on ourselves (and trying not to get down on each other, so we can tackle the problem as a TEAM) for the financial mistakes we've made. It's a major roadblock to success in so many areas of my life that I'm trying to fight.

Congratulations to your husband for being a shining star :) It IS nice to feel valued!

Hi

That is so true. Confidence is life is a huge part of success. I'm sure we have all come across people that have self-belief but not very much talent - and they often do very well!

I wish your husband good luck.
