My wife majes a good living sellling insurance and I am a teacher (out-of-work) for the summer taking care of our son. Living on one salary and one that is commission only is the worst thing that anyone can do!!! Thank G-d for my in-laws who live nearby. Without them we would probalby starve!!! Always think before you buy anything this prevents whim purchases. I use wesabe to aggregate all of my accounts and it makes it very easy to see at a glance where I am at on my monthly budget and how all my disparate accounts are faring. We tend to celebrate each time we get down under any thousand. (IE, we're under $7,000!) We don't really celebrate as in going out for a treat. But it's something I may consider doing. I'm constantly adjusting our budget to reflect reality. It's exhausting at times, but I am slowly learning that there are just weeks when we're both sick and tired and will go over our "eating out" budget by ordering pizza.
