Just popping in quickly to give a credit card debt update. We were able to pay $850 more towards our debt and our total is now at $1,649. I actually updated the total this morning but ran out of time to write a post before work.

I will be writing more tonight about where a portion of the $850 came from…

You’re inching towards the goal. I was a “lurker” for a long time and I can tell you that I am excited for you. Really.

  3. Kristy responded:

That is awesome. I have been watching you rdebt reduction without commenting for a while, but wanted to now. I would be so tempted to pay it off now, but you have to do what is best for your family. It is such a strange feeling when you finally do. Not so much exciting, but unbelievable. Congrats!

  4. L responded:

I was so excited when I saw how close you are getting. Then I look back at where you were and it’s an awesome feat you’ve pulled off. Thank you for being a huge inspiration to the rest of us.

  5. DH responded:

Wow, congrats!!! Really excited too for you. This is really, really getting close. Congratulations again!

  6. Susan responded:

Tricia: You know you can pay off your debt. I suspect you don’t want to stop writing the blog. Why don’t you next address student debt and paying off your home. Of course you will need to consider the tax situation of deducting interest for student loans and mortgage. You wouldn’t want to find that all of your savings goes to taxes. Congratulations on all of your hard work. Best wishes, Susan

  7. Jay Gatsby responded:

Susan has a point. Student loans and mortgage payments, while incurring interest, do provide a nice tax write-off for those able to utilize the deductions. It is only when you get into a higher tax bracket that things change.

  8. C.C. responded:

Wow, I think that’s amazing! You are so close to closing the chapter on that one!!

  9. Jjana responded:

WOW! you guys are sooooo close! Good luck!

  10. danielle responded:

Ooooohhhhh….. please pay it off. Please. This is really killing me.
