Sometimes personal things are going on behind the scenes. I try to blog about as much as I can, but there are some things I can’t discuss due to privacy reasons. Things have been a little crazy lately, and I haven’t been as focused as I should be.
Every now and then, I get an email from a reader that brightens my day. It’s about the success they are having with their debt reduction. It gives me a little kick that I need and the latest kick made me say to myself, “You know what, you can squeeze out a little more money this month to get that debt total under $7K.” So that is what I did. Our current debt total is $6,999.
We did have to squeeze that one since I was leaving a little buffer for some early Christmas shopping. I’m not a huge day after Thanksgiving shopper, but if something looked interesting we had the money. I thought about it, and most of the deals probably wouldn’t apply to us. After all, we are trying to let our needs guide our shopping – not the sales. Following the sales is how you end up with a lot of stuff you don’t need
As always, a big thank you to everyone for reading and your emails!

Congrats! That’s a huge milestone. We’re not quite that far along, but we just recently stretched to pay off our car and it felt wonderful. Good job and keep up the hard work!

That’s great! And thank you for the reminder that this weekend can be spent in other pursuits besides shopping. It’s true – there’s nothing I need personally this weekend. The sales won’t convince me otherwise!

That’s great going, especially if you had to work extra hard to squeeze under this month. Isn’t is amazing that, by just pushing a little extra, you can get so much further.
Well done and keep up the good work until it’s all gone!

Way to go! Yea!
Doesn’t it feel wonderful? I just paid off one car and will pay off the other one next month. Not only will we no longer have the car payment, our insurance will go down too!
We still have $30k to pay off but I know we can do it…2 years and we should be set!
Happy Thanksgiving.
