I had a scare recently when I found out that my in-laws, my husband's mother and step father, are not only out of money, but out of credit. They live a pretty wealthy lifestyle and are now scrambling. I actually considered seeing an attorney to make sure I don't inherit their debt if they die, but further research shows I won't.
