He sounds like a small child - like someone who wanted a mommy to come along and manage key aspects of his adult life for him. That's really lame. Married people should be partners in managing the finances, though it's obviously fine if one person does more of the related day-to-day management. Adults should have a clue about thier finances, they shouldn't just turn them over to others and then stick their heads in the sand. And what would your husband and son do if you got hit by a bus tomorrow? I have a feeling that your son's financial future would suck because your husband would have no idea how to continue behaving responsibly with money and he would act like a child without you as "mommy" to keep his spending in control.
