Great Job! Yes. Pay those big high interest cards off. Thats what I am doing. But my wife and I do have some new cards that are talked about on my blog. We save 15 to 20 cents a gallon with them and there is 0 cost to use them. Purchases are tracked online. Just pay they full amount on them every month to keep them paid down and they work great..

Trish-
I know people don't do things the way I do things, but in the past, when I have been in debt, I have used savings to pay it off. I just left a little bit, like $500 or so. (Or less).
Maybe, in a few months, if you feel like it, you can use your savings to go under 10K, and just leave like a thousand. But, it's your choice. Congrats again, and good luck

Thank you everyone :)

Danielle - It's funny you mention our savings because the thought has crossed my mind to use our savings to get under $10,000. I feel like we are in the home stretch now, especially because we have that savings there.

I won't use it for that, though. We may be needing it for other things.

I just finished reading your story. WOW! You need to put this into long text when your done, and publish it. I would then send it to your state Attorney General. They have no idea what we really have to go through.

God Bless you in your venture.

I am so glad that you made such a huge jump. In my eyes, you aren't that far from four figures because of your savings, but that's just how I look at things.

In America every six seconds somebody is told "I Need Help With my Credit Card Debt". The banks hear this hundreds of times a day, yet they keep loaning the money and charging the interest. As adults in the working community, we are doing the same thing our kids do. They ask for more candy and they get sick, we ask for more money and we get sick. Who's fault is it when we give our kids too much candy and they get sick? We are the adults and should know better. The banks are to the experts and should know better. Or do they?
