While looking through flickr.com to find a photo for a post I am writing (for the paid writing gig I was offered), I came across a woman who paid off the last of her credit card debt not too long ago. She shared her joy with others by posting a photo in her Flickr portfolio. I saw the picture before, but I only recently figured out that it was okay to post it on here. Since the pic makes me smile, I wanted to share with all of you.
Congrats lemonjenny! I think there are a lot of us who can’t wait write those last credit card payments as well

Yay! That’s a great feeling! I remember when I paid off the last bits of my debt. I was elated.

I’m trying to remember when I paid off all my credit cards…. I think it was 2000/2001-ish. I don’t remember, but it felt good. And it’s nice not worrying about it!
I am still debt-free, unless you count the mortgage

Wow. That photo is every wish I make over birthday cakes and on fallen stars nowadays. Can’t wait for that day. I will also be throwing a party, though it will have to wait until a month or so after the last debt is paid off - so I can save up to pay for the party in CASH!

I am alway’s amazed by the freedom of credit given in america…I live in Australia I have a pretty clear credit history except for one little debt of $699 that was paid nearly 3 years ago. this little debt has caused me no end of trouble in me trying to apply for finace. I am not eligble for personal loans, not eliglble for credit cards let alone a home loan or anything else. Even when I did have a credit card I used it once to show I can use it and pay it off (all in 3 hours LOL) then I cut it up that dosn’t count…Only what I didn’t pay once because I got into the argument with the telphone company over it…..One thing I have learned from this blog and several others it seems to me credit is handed out pretty freely in America am I wrong I wuold love to hear more on this.
