I got a kick out of this new product from Japan, especially since I just wrote about some piggy banks for kids earlier this week:
The “Savings Bomb,” which goes on sale in Japan next week, “explodes” and scatters coins if users fail to save for a long time.
[Via Yahoo.com]
I’m not sure how much it “explodes,” but if I had this bank I would be tempted to not contribute to it to watch it scatter coins. I know my son would get a kick out of it shaking violently and exploding too. So I’m not sure how effective this bank would be.
I suppose it would depend on the person using it. Me? I like playing 52 pickup

Also, if you’re not saving a lot in it, there won’t be much to explode. Duh. This seems like a dumb product!

[...] Tricia over at Blogging Away Debt mentioned an article about a wonderful Japanese product that she read about on Yahoo, and I just had to write something about this myself. [...]

Lol. I don’t think I’d want an exploding piggy bank, but it does make me smile.

That is hilarious. I’m also not sure how effective it would be, but it’s a great marketing ploy.
