Whether you just met someone and want to get to know them better, or you are married and looking for a little romance, you may want to give this article on Yahoo a read.
From bowling to hiking, I think the writer put together a great list of ideas so I thought I would share.

Some of those ideas are great. But the author must not live in a major metropolitan area. I can’t remember the last time I went out to play pool and it only cost $2. Around here in DC, most places on a week night are at least $10 an hour to play if you want to make sure you can keep the table to yourself. Same with renting bikes, paddle boating and bowling. To me these are all very expensive dates. However, we are blessed here in DC with free museums and more monuments than most people ever get to see.

Any list like that really depends on where you live but its a good list none the less.
Though I have to say going camping isn’t one of those date ideas that jumps out at me until you’ve been with the person for a little while.

That list is unrealistic. There’s now way some of those things are less than $20.

Okay guys, the list doesn’t contain hard and fast rules. Look it as a bunch of ideas to get you thinking about lower-cost entertainment. The point is that you don’t have to break the bank to get to know someone or go have fun with your date/spouse/family/friends. In fact, those of us who don’t live in a metro area can easily argue that although pool games cost more in big cities, there are certainly FAR more free and cheap things to do in a big city than in a town of 100,000 or less.

I have two sons, one of whom is old enough that he is starting to try to get up the courage to ask out a girl he’s interested in. Some of these date ideas are also excellent because they are innocent ways that younger teens can spend time together that shouldn’t frighten their parents. Of course, I won’t be suggesting that he take his date wine tasting.
