I’m in a rut at the moment. I think part of it has to do with having to spend a lot of money last week. I have a problem with parting with large sums of money when it’s not going towards our savings or our debt.
Probably another reason is because I am again nursing an injury. So I am experiencing a rut with my exercising as well.
Throw in some female hormones and you have someone who doesn’t want to think about finances at all right now. Thank goodness I know we have money in the account (yay to payday!) and I don’t have any bills that I have to pay until the first of the month. I can set things on auto-pilot for a little bit.
So, this week I probably won’t talk much about our finances unless my mood perks up. Instead, I will probably initiate some conversations about finance in general. It’s always interesting to hear others’ viewpoints on subjects.
As a reader, if you ever have something you want bring up to discuss on here, feel free to contact me and share your story. I always welcome the stories of others.
Now it’s time to go to bed. Lack of sleep lately is another thing that probably isn’t helping my rut.

I know the feeling, Tricia! It sounds girly, but some days I just want someone else to deal with it all.
Hope things pick up for you soon!

I’m right there with you. I’m actually working towards the goal of making all my money automatic specifically so it won’t weigh on my mind like it has on the past. Worrying about money is such a drag, and when it’s on auto-pilot, you can focus your energy (and worry!) elsewhere.
Hope you feel better soon!!

I could use a little autopilot myself. Too bad my autopilot has an “upward spending drift”! Anyone know how to fix a financial autopilot? No?
*sigh* In that case I guess I’ll just have to keep paying attention to what I’m doing!

I feel the same way but I am so obsessed with dealing with my debt, figuring and tweaking accounts, it makes me feel better. If I tweak the budget tighter, and see ways to save, it gies me hope, but that is just me. I guess it is a control issue I have. When I feel out of control, it helps me. Hope you feel better, you’re still awesome to me.

I’ve been enjoying reading your blog for a couple weeks now; I find it entertaining, insightful and informative. The subject of personal finance is new to me and I’m starting to become more fiscally responsible. Your blog in addition to a few others out in the web have inspired me. So thanks! Now, about your injury…I think it may be wise to have that checked out now, before it becomes a bigger problem (and more expensive!). Having read that you’ve injured yourself (again), the initial injury may have never healed in the first place and predisposes you to a higher risk of hurting yourself in the future. It’s like maintaining a car, right? Fix the little problems now before it gets worse. Just a thought.
