Cold weather runs up my heating bill which offsets what I saved by not going out.

I love it down here is the south (Texas) where our winters are brief or non-existant. What keeps me from going out and spending money is the torrential rains we sometimes get.

I'm interested that bad weather keeps you from spending money. I live in NYC, and I think people order in more when the weather is bad. In my case, I could stay home tonight and rustle up something from my kitchen cabinets, or I could order in (that always comes to $20 with tip) or I could literally go across the street to the grocery store that's open from 7:00 a.m. to 11PM. Not to mention there are 24 hour Korean markets just three blocks away, and I'm also sleepy. For some reason, a Starbucks or a Dunkin Donuts coffee at this moment is more tempting than coffee I make myself.

Food is *always* where I spend more than I plan, and this city is all about making it easy for you to spend. I'm going to make coffee and see if being more awake keeps me from ordering in.

22 inches of snow? Ok, I'll stop complaining about the sleet and slush we got here in Boston. At least I don't have to shovel it, and it should all melt soon.

As for keeping the sweaters and such out, last year I don't think I put my down comforter away until late April.

Where I went to college, it snowed and was grey nine months of the year. It was pretty at first, but then it got annoying. I could never do it again.

THe cold here is nice and refreshing but it also shows me not to pack up my sweaters too early and I find out I realy hae to do some clothes shopping. My short sleeve shirts are too tight, old, or stained to wear to work and look presentable. I do not have to dress up business but I do still have to look like a respectable human being and not some slob who just woke up and came to work. My sweaters still look nice so I am happy this happened. Love the blog, come see mine, please...

Well all I can say is #&%^$ winter!

I love Michigan, I love the change of seasons, but winter can seriously chill out now. We had an early cold snap last fall and now a late cold snap right now and I've had enough.

Six months of temps near freezing and/or with snow is a bit much for me. All I want to do is keep the windows open, let the fresh air in and spend time outside :(
