With reducing debt and reducing our expenses, we try to make the most of what we have. We tend to go without things and try not to purchase things for the house unless we absolutely have to.
There are two things that we will ALWAYS pay the money for - smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector in our home and the batteries to power them. Like clockwork, we replace the batteries with every time change.
You know me, I don’t like to sound like I’m telling you what to do. But those two devices can save lives and I feel strongly about having them in homes. If you haven’t checked the batteries in yours in a while, please do so. And, if you do not have any, please do buy some. If funds are really tight, see if your local fire department has a program for free smoke detectors and/or carbon monoxide detectors.
In my mind, they both are too important to not pay the money for.
