I have to brag just for a second, we had a side gate that we took off about a year ago it was still just on the side of the house so New Years day I took my jig zaw and made a stand for our firewood. It is great we got our wood off the ground and now we don't have an ugle gate on the side of our home. TOTAL COST 0$ Thank-you for letting me share. You'll save money and get way better quality. You don't have to get a whole beef either. Generally you can ask for a quarter of a beef (or a split side which is half of the front quarter and half of the hind quarter) or a half of a beef as well; depending on how big your family is. Or you can go in on it together with another family. For a quarter of a beef you can expect to pay about $450 and depending on how big your family is that might last you all year long or more! That's $37.50 a month and you'll have ground beef, steaks, roasts, etc. You can also ask about buying a hog from the same farmer. And towards the end I'll add a thin layer of water bringing it to a boil and boil the hamburger for a couple of minutes. I then drain again. I'm pretty sure at this point, I've got the most healthy hamburger available. It's probably overkill, but since a pound of hamburger stretches for a few meals it's really a cheap dinner anyway.
