The fifth paragraph, by moving the conversation out of the binary yes/no realm, is excellent.

I might replace &quot;displeasure&quot; with &quot;disappointment.&quot;  I would also replace &quot;I was of the (apparently mistaken) belief that...&quot; with &quot;I had hoped that...&quot; if I were writing this kind of letter for myself.  I wouldn&#039;t want to antagonize the loan officer.

That said, I&#039;m glad your reader received the loan.   I fully agree about the value of credit unions, which is why I&#039;m a member of one.</description>
